My husband has MM. He has been on Velcade twice a week for 6 months. At this time his doctor is recommending a bone marrow transplant. We talked to a transplant doctor and she could not tell us if this was the way to go. I have done a lot of research on this and have not found it to be be a real answer.

I do know if you use certain medicine it precludes you from doing something else. Our doctor is saying there is no research being done on this disease. Was grateful to read your article. Maybe there is hope.

What a wonderful thing to have a promise that one day they might cure multiple myeloma. My mother died from this in 1997. It is indeed a painful death. They thought her father might of had it but are not sure. I am so gald that they are doing research on this. Thank you so much.

O M G!!!!! That is huge. Congrats to all. I know it took a village. I'm in awe that I have lived long enough to see this break through. I have no degrees, but I have always had an interest in this area and have followed all the steps with great interest. My Hubby works for Mayo, so as a family we are all proud of you. Major Kisses and Hugs for all of you.
