Many patients have a fond musical memory from Mayo Clinic’s Gonda Atrium. Patients and employees will often be seen taking a break by playing piano or singing. Some musicians that have touched many lives over the years on the piano are known on YouTube as the Cowans and the 15-yr. old pianist.

Recently, a musician touched the hearts and minds of many passersby, who quickly coalesced in the atrium to listen to his deep, beautiful voice. Watch Kent Alexander sing “Amazing Grace” and “The Rose” below.

    He was totaly awesome. I had to spend a couple of days going thru tests, and it sure made my day. i am so glad Mayo allows this in the Gonda building

    I stood and watched this amazing gentleman sing on this morning a few weeks ago feeling so grateful that I have to opportunity to work in a place where people share theirs gifts so freely. We all had chills as we experienced his beautiful voice!
