Years of raising awareness for breast cancer could not have prepared Barbra Riley for the devastating words she heard just over a year ago – “You have breast cancer.”
Barbra had dedicated her time and energy to promoting breast cancer awareness through such organizations as the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the Coaltion of Blacks Against Breast Cancer (CBBC). She never imagined that she would one day be battling such a highly aggressive disease, triple negative breast cancer, but thanks her physicians at Mayo Clinic for always providing answers to her many questions.
From the day when Barbra discovered the lump in her breast to the day that she completed her treatment, she shares with us how her determination, courage and unfaltering desire to seek answers to her questions kept her motivated to fight this unexpected battle.
