Judy,

My heart is with you in your struggle with Multiple Myeloma. For a rare form of cancer, it’s surprisingly all around me. My mother died of its secondary disease, amyloidosis, but she had had MM for three years. She died in 1976 so there’s been a lot of research done since then. And now a woman I know is having a bad time with MM.

Congratulations on your seven years and I hope to read that you’re still going strong in another ten years. Being in the hospital for one year takes more guts than I have.

I wish I shared your enthusiasm for the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix. I’ve been there a few times myself and had to fight for what I needed. I’m not a big fan of my doctor, but he’s all that stands between me and not being able to walk.
