Hi. I’m from the Philippines and I cried when I read this. My brother Franz is 13 years old and has been in a wheelchair for as long as I could remember. When he was a baby he suddenly lost the ability to walk and/or move around. he reached a point when he could not even hold his head up and there he was having tics/tremors. As I was reading this article, it was as if it was describing my brother. We have brought him to several doctors and hospitals but to no avail. I really hope you can help us. His condition has been very difficult for our family especially emotionally. Since we are in the Philippines, is there a way where you could give us the list of tests we can do here to determine whether he is suffering from the same l-dopa responsive dystonia so that when we go to the US we wouldn’t have to stay so long? My mom’s sister is a nurse in Maryland. I really hope you can help us. We will do anything just to know what’s wrong and if it can be treated. This article was like an answered prayer. Thank you.
